The Artificial Intelligence market will expectedly be worth $153 billion in the near future. We are talking about digital revolution here. We are talking about path breaking technological ideas and implementation here. It is going to redefine the way in which humans are going to interact with machines.

Artificial Intelligence in Web Development: Is it even possible?

The stakes are high. The figures are impressive – to say the least. We have got engineers and marketers embarking on diverse plans with AI at the core. Why should developers be left behind? No credentialed web development company would ideally be unaware of the scope of Artificial Intelligence as far as web development is concerned. The consultants should not be unaware of the fact that developers around the world are looking at the possible integration of Intelligence and web development to bolster user experience.

Imagine sitting in front of one of those template designers that you have just signed up for. Expect your “AI designer” to ask you about your preferences with regard to branding, colors, content and layout. Once you have fed the answers to those questions, the template designer, based on the pre-programmed algorithms will automatically go on to create a website, which is the perfect combination of aesthetic and professional appeal.

How will Artificial intelligence go on to facilitate “communication”?

This is what AI can do for web development. Using the AI elements, a developer becomes better adept at catering to users’ needs. Since It is known for understanding customer moods and preferences better, web developers will be in a better position to integrate elements that are going to append to the user experience – of course, so that they are more convincingly persuaded to make purchases.

Now, how does this Technique do this? How does it ensure that developers are better adept at catering to buyer needs? It does this with the help of cognitive analysis and situations. Chatbots, for example, have made it possible for web professionals to predict customer reactions. They facilitate better communication with the customers by making the whole (communication) process very simple and hassle-free. The next-generation internet users will actually find it easier to communicate with the website itself. There will be no communication barrier to contend with as such.

With the help of the statistical analysis marketers and other web professionals can actually minimize errors. Processing a large amount of information also becomes easier when communication is facilitated at such level.

So, which web development company are you consulting at the present moment? Are they duly aware of the immense opportunities that Artificial Intelligence has in store for the next generation web users? Do find out so that you can make an informed choice.

Web Design Tips for a Successful Small Business Website

Comments Off on Web Design Tips for a Successful Small Business Website

When small businesses are about to build their first website, some of them hire the services of local developers while others turn to agencies or sometimes feel challenged to do it on their own. We are willing to help those who are confident enough to build their own website.

Now, what are the common errors that many businesses make in designing their site? Do they lack content or have too much of it? Are elements too close or too far from one another? Is it difficult to navigate the website because of inconsistencies in color? There must be some mistake and you need to find them.

Your small business website will typically have several pages, containing contact info, a sitemap, about us sections – which are essential, but many of them will meet their own needs. However, it is only through content that people can learn about your business.

What you need to do is make sure that the content displayed on your website reads well and makes sense. When you take things like content for granted, it may mean that you will also take other aspects of your business for granted.

My advice is for you to focus on call-to-action and to make sure that your messages encourage visitors to take action. You should be able to integrate the environment of your business into your website.

It is a common practice to place your logo where it is easily noticeable – like at the middle of the header or on the top left corner. Placing it somewhere else could confuse or distract customers, so follow practices that are proven to be effective.

Ask the help of a friend or office mate to give his/her opinion regarding the colors you have chosen for your website. This makes it easier to know if your website is comfortable to read and browse whenever another person gives a second opinion. Or else, get more ideas by sending it to others.

Another crucial aspect is navigation, since it is the way visitors find what you want them to on your website. Therefore, be sure to make your site easy to navigate. Provide a space for your navigation links and don’t make it appear like a category selection.

This usually happens with startup businesses. They start with a few team members, and when things are picking up when it comes to design and development, they have totally forgotten about how the current website looks. So, you should never publish content that is not entirely ready.

Make your website more interesting by including online stores, a contact form, photo galleries or great, relevant content. Besides making your website rich with content, make it Google-searchable to enjoy the advantages of organic search traffic.

If you need to put the front-end things of your website on hold, try to create a coming soon page or something similar. Just make sure that visitors do not see discontinued pages or incomplete features.

Web Design Trends – HTML5 Vs Flash, CSS3, WCMS and More

Comments Off on Web Design Trends – HTML5 Vs Flash, CSS3, WCMS and More

As the Internet expands the world of design, there are a few trends to be on the lookout for. Web design constantly undergoes changes in trends as the years pass. Certain aspects of design like HTML5 vs Flash, CSS, content management systems, and software development platforms are all changing how people create on the web.

Specific trends like oversized logos and headers, huge images, typography, minimalism, and intro boxes have been popular in the past. For the future of web design, there will be more HTML5, CSS, content management systems, and software development platforms. The large debate between HTML5 and Flash will probably forever continue, but HTML5 has some great benefits. HTML5 is better supported on mobile devices and allows for more interactive design on the web. HTML5 is already compatible on most browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. It also gives developers more flexibility and allows them to do more things in-house and it allows for more powerful and interactive applications. HTML5 lets developers manage data, draw, and play video and audio (which developers had problems doing with HTML4). HTML5 has new canvas and also makes it easy to embed video elements. It also has a new geolocation APIs, client-side database, offline application cache, and thread-like operation.

Flash still has some great benefits. Flash has better support streaming secure and live video, is more ubiquitous and the 2D and 3D APIs are more usable than canvas (allegedly). The developer community is larger and more mature than HTML5 and the tools are strong and well-supported. Designers are also more comfortable using Flash. Flash also gives access to web cam and audio recording.

New trends in CSS3 include change of text selection color, gradually changing links, 1px clicks, easier introduction paragraphs, and box shadow with RGBA on hover. With CSS3, designers can change the color of selected text to match the color scheme of the rest of the site. Also with CSS3, designers can change the opacity of a hover link. 1px click makes links that are clicked on move down 1px and return to their original place after the mouse is released. Introduction paragraphs are also easier and CSS3 allows designers to create a box shadow with RGBA on hover.

A web content management system or WCMS lets users with little or lots of web programming language know-how create and manage a web site’s content with ease. A WCMS can use templates and the WCMS uses databases to store artifacts, content, and metadata. Most WCMSs use server side caching and most have automated templates, scalable expansion, easily editable content, scalable feature sets, web standards upgrades, workflow management, collaboration, delegation, document management, content virtualization, content syndication, multilingual capabilities, and versioning.

Software Development Platforms

Also known as HTML editors are software applications used to create web pages. Such applications, like Adobe Dreamweaver, allow users to create and preview web sites in locally installed web browsers, transfer features, synchronize features, find and replace lines of text, find and replace lines of code, and use templates. These software development platforms can also use third-party extensions to increase functionality. Most of them can also be used with HTML and are usually compatible with Mac or Windows operating systems. Software development platforms often support CSS, JavaScript, and other scripting languages and frameworks.

Because the Internet is rapidly and constantly expanding the web design world, trends of web design are constantly upgrading to new software, languages, and editing platforms. By keeping up with these web design trends, designers and developers can make attractive and interactive web site designs that will increase in popularity and ease of use.

5 Trends to Watch Out for to Deliver a Future Proof E-Commerce Website Design

Comments Off on 5 Trends to Watch Out for to Deliver a Future Proof E-Commerce Website Design

The world of commerce is increasingly coming over the web. With mobile web getting stronger and sophisticated than ever before, most businesses are now invariably focused to reach their audience with a fluid and versatile experience.

User experience or more precisely, ease of use is the single most important consideration to ensure traction and engagement. It is needless to say that design plays a major role in this. While there is no dearth of creativity and innovation in designing e-commerce websites, the following trends can help your brand to stay future optimized as well.

Material Design

Flat design has dominated for years just because it ensured optimum ease of use and easy access. But as flat design became commonplace, Google brought material design to bring some layers and depth to the flat design. With material design, an interface selling products can allow more layers and help prioritization as well as prominence in certain areas that deserve more action.

For example, subtle use of shadows and gradients can sharpen certain CTA buttons and create a visual hierarchy for the viewers.

More personalization of AI and machine learning

Artificial Intelligence and machine learning became possible thanks to an array of sophisticated sensors that process multiple layers of user data. With devices learning about users and adjusting to their needs thanks to data feedback, websites and web apps could have more scopes of personalization, whether addressing users with notification messages or suggesting them products with in-app messages.

Chatbots offer a complete paradigm shift for the websites and web apps dealing with real-time shoppers. Designed to answer all relevant queries at every step of purchase and browsing it actually replaces the so-called manual customer service to guide users.

Moreover, designed to build a conversation with personalized human touch the modern Chatbots can really sound convincing and pleasant to push customers for better buying decisions. Throughout this year and beyond Chatbots are going to be a mainstay in e-commerce website design and development.

Dynamic search

For any e-commerce site, it is very important to allow ease of searching products with minimum delay. Moreover, with the search results being the same with every user, many users can feel it depressing as they need to reach their desired ones with a lot of efforts.

This is why delivering search results based on the user intents and previous search history is important. Widely dubbed as dynamic search, this new and easy search feature is expected to be a mainstay across e-commerce websites.

Long scroll

Just think of scrolling down the Facebook news feed that seemingly goes on for miles. None of us get bored with scrolling down and encountering new pieces of contents as it continues revealing more.

Long scroll, when introduced into an e-commerce site, does almost the same thing by allowing us to see fresh new options as we scroll down. Moreover, scrolling down is a common action most users are frequently acquainted with.

An Insight Into Web Development Options – Custom Website Design Vs Web Site Templates

Comments Off on An Insight Into Web Development Options – Custom Website Design Vs Web Site Templates

Web development has many aspects to it- web content development, web design development, web server scripting, e-commerce business development to name a few. The discussions in this article deal web content development. In considering a website design development, two basic distinctions become important considerations. Whether your website was a custom website design or if it was deigned out of an available website template needs to be considered.

A custom made website may have cost you a lot of time and money, but when its time to develop your website, a custom website design works best. You have the liberty change components of your website taking the current market trends into consideration. Custom design facilitates custom organization and layout. While adding pages into the website, you may want to create a layout that is different from other websites. This can be done easily if your website is a custom design. With a custom website, you can keep developing it constantly. This is crucial in monetizing your website for business leads and to derive profits from your website. A stale website will not keep ranking well and will not attract visitors since it contains the same details it contained earlier.

If your website is a product of a website template, web development options are limited. While you can enhance the quality of the content, adding new pages, new arrangement and alignments are not feasible. This reduces appeal to visitors who may not even take note of the content development on the existing pages because the page mostly looks the same. But as we all know, template web design is a good option for those who are looking to convert clients or make profits out of the website. For information oriented websites, template websites are a good option since they are a great save save on time and money.

Since we are talking about web development here, the verdict should be given in favor of that practice which allows efficient web development and the winner clearly is custom website design.

Small-Business Web Design: Finding the Right Team to Build Your Website

November 8, 2017

Web Design & Development

Comments Off on Small-Business Web Design: Finding the Right Team to Build Your Website

The demand for small-business web design is increasing exponentially, for the Internet has become the new frontier of customer engagement. But as demand increases, so, too, do the methods by which small businesses can get their websites built. This invariably complicated things-new web agencies, freelance web designers and coders, and do-it-yourself templates are sprouting up everywhere, making it difficult to find the quality amongst the quantity.

The process of hiring a website-design team can be simplified by being as specific as possible. Specific questions merit specific answers, and, like tweezers, these questions will get to the essence of the real requirements for project success:

What is the purpose of your website?

To you, this may seem like it has an obvious answer, but it’s of vital importance. Most freelance web designers and coders specialize in a few select categories of web development (such as e-commerce design), so defining the purpose of your site-e.g., to sell a product, offer a service, build community engagement, regularly write and distribute content, etc.-will filter out a significant number of workers from your list of options.

What medium of hiring do you want to use?

There are a number of ways to locate prospects for small-business web design-the three main ones being agencies, freelance marketplaces, or referrals from trustworthy contacts. As with any field, referrals are usually the best routes. If you’re lacking contacts, however, you’ll have to weigh the pros and cons of agencies and marketplaces. The former has more to offer, but is usually quite expensive. Marketplaces come cheaper, but involve a great deal of trial and error due to the alarmingly high number of unqualified workers who frequent them.

What questions do you want to ask prospective freelance web designers and coders?

Once you’ve found some potential freelancers who specialize in small-business web design, it’ll be time to ask them some key questions about their specific skills. Inquire about the essentials:

  • What websites have you created in the past? (Look for professional, up-to-date design levels, styles and user interfaces.)
  • Are the sites you create accessible from any browser? (Alignment, text consistency and readability should be static across all browsers.)
  • What logic do you apply behind the page layouts?
  • Do the sites you create load on mobile devices? (You’ll be losing roughly 40% of daily traffic if you’re site doesn’t load properly on smart phones and tablets.)
  • Which days of the week are you available?
  • How many other projects are you currently working on?

Feel free to throw in additional questions that are important to your project.

What kind of team composition will you require?

The scope and budget of your project will have a significant effect on your team’s composition. Best practice in small-business web design, however, is to hire at least one designer and one developer. Some freelancers like to claim that they can do both; these people should be considered with great caution, for although they may have general skills in freelance web design and development, they’re likely lacking substantial talent in one category or the other.

You may have to add more to your composition if you require small-business marketing. In this case-which is typical of e-commerce designs-web analysts and consultants can be of great help.

Do you have example sites that reflect your overall goals?

Once you’ve established a suitable team composition, you’ll need to supply your team with a few strong examples of small-business web design that demonstrate what you’re looking for in your own website. You could also do worse than find a couple of examples that you don’t care for. In effect, your designer and developer will be equipped to create something original that makes your small business unique from competitors.

The ingredients of effective small-business web design [] include a remarkable, singular brand and functionality that makes the customer’s life easier. Of course, none of this matters if your online marketing isn’t up to par; for the emerging business with a limited budget, it is possible to find the comprehensive web services [] of an agency at the cost of freelance rates.

Web Development Lifecycle (WDL)

November 8, 2017

Web Design & Development

Comments Off on Web Development Lifecycle (WDL)

The web development lifecycle (WDL) is a more specific variation on the general framework for developing any application development project. Unlike general application development, all web design and development projects follow a similar structure, so the web development lifecycle / process can be drawn upon as a point of reference for both the web development team and the client to determine the status of any given project and the area of activity to address next.

The Web Development Lifecycle is made up of eight identifiable stages described as follows:

1. Initial Consultation

The Initial Consultation seeks to understand the high level business requirements, the scale of the web development, required delivery schedule, and the overall feasibility, web design and cost of the project.

2. Project Specification

The business requirements of the proposed website are iteratively established between the Client and the web design team, and documented in the form of a High Level Requirements Specification. Focus here is on the relevant business rules and outputs. Implementation of the system, how the requirements are actually delivered, is reserved for later. Once agreed, this document will form the basis of the subsequent stages of the Web Development Lifecycle.

3. Web Site Architecture

Here the software and hardware requirements for delivery of the web application are established, such as the most appropriate web and application development language, operating system, database management system (DBMS), and hardware / hosting environment that are most appropriate to support the final website in a robust and reliable manner; taking account of the likely growth of data volumes, visitor numbers web traffic, and functionality.

4. Web Site Design Cycle

Deliverables out of this phase have a particular focus on the web design of the system, include mock-ups or prototypes of the screens that make up the system, combined with system walkthroughs which will enable both the Client and the software developers, designers and project management team to clearly understand how the website will work from the user and administrators perspective. The design of the CRM would also be full considered here also. This web application functionality is considered in the context of the defined outputs and business rules, and may result in the High Level Requirement Specification being updated or changed. Following this, a key deliverable here is a Low Level Website Design Specification / Document precisely defining the required implementation of the web design and forming a blue print of the project for the software developers.

5. Content Collation

Any required textual and graphical content for the web application is developed or acquired by the Client (or the software development company, depending on the relevant situation). Admin functionality which enables the Client to amend the full content of the site from system launch, and on an ongoing basis, is assumed to have been included and defined within the High Level Requirements Specification, as mentioned.

6. Web Site Project development

At this stage a detailed project plan will have been established for the implementation of the web design, resources identified, time scales defined, and project dependencies clearly understood – especially with respect to which parts of the web development can be done in serial or parallel. This stage actually overlaps with the next stage of the Web Development Lifecycle since all web developed modules are unit tested to destruction by the corresponding web development team members. Further, it is very important that all code produced by the software developers is quality checked to ensure adherence to project development standards.

7. Testing & Quality Assurance

Many forms of testing are carried out during this phase, from system and volume testing – in order to ensure that all components work together within the web application and can easily cope with both the initial and anticipated future demands on the system – all the way to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and sign-off. There are many forms of testing required during this phase that are beyond the scope of this introduction, such as cross-browser and security testing – all contributing towards the delivery of a high-quality website and service to the client.

8. Web Site Deployment (Launch)

Once the website implementation is tested and released by both the client and software development company as being fully operational, the website is deployed to the production environment and open to the relevant user base. Following this there is generally a pre-agreed period of warranty and an ongoing support agreement can be established at the discretion of the client.

The process can vary but, generally speaking, the dependencies and features of a successful process of delivering webs applications to the client does not. I hope this has been a useful introduction to the process of delivering quality web applications to any business.

About Us: Time Critical Solutions (TeCS)

Time Critical Solutions (TCS) Ltd, aka “TeCS”, is an international business company (IBC) incorporated in Cyprus (a full member of the European Union). The company primarily serves wider-Europe, the Middle-East and Mediterranean regions – but also has clients in many other parts of the world. The company was originally incorporated in the UK in 1998 as Radiant Systems Ltd, which operated as an IT consultancy boutique directly serving FT100 companies throughout the United Kingdom. From around 2003 there was a significant growth in the demand for IT services within small and medium sized companies who were realising the opportunity that the web presented to their business, as well as the cost savings that could be achieved through automation and streamlining of their operations.

The SME market for IT services continues to grow to this very day. However, it is true to say that the quality of service being offered by the IT industry to the SME varies widely, often with loose adherence to industry standards of design, development, documentation, support, and general customer care. Unfortunately, the industry continues to be sales, rather than service, orientated – and price, rather than value sensitive – causing many SMEs to fall foul of poorly qualified, inexperienced service providers.
