No trivia or quizzes yet. The author takes us on a journey that spans years. Brett’s narrative style is so distracting that I don’t think I’ll make it through this. However, Unfinished Business seemed forced to me from beginning to end.

I really hope that the author writes another story with them in it, even if they are just side characters.

This has one of the best relationship developments I’ve ever read.
Cory has friends and they are a breath of fresh air, too bad they didn’t bring about the balance Bbeggars expected, bodyguards. Sep 30, Manda rated it really liked it. Kwrick a burn or a slap, or maybe just a good sharp poke right in that pain-in-the-ass hole in my chest. It did get back on track towards the end but I was so annoyed by then it just never made its way back to level it was at before.

It was silly to think a boy would be so beautiful that he would be groped and attacked multiple times in a book. This is a slow burn romance with heart ache from the past and present. The story takes place over 4 yrs I think and it really is a friends to lovers story, first because Brett isn’t gay and he is also legal and Cory isn’t at the beginning of this story, it really is a deep friendship, and even when that changes the sex is very little and very muted.

Brett never wanted anyone but Cory and feels like he has failed when Cory has doubts about him; he also has to deal with his jealousy when Cory is pursued by another student. Now I want to cry again: This book shows the beauty and ugliness of life. You’ve successfully reported this review. Want to Read saving…. I liked that Cory is far from a perfect little angel, and that they both helped each other cope with their lack of family support, and love.
There is a moment of violence, and I thought the level of description was just about right for older YA, not too euphemistic nor too explicit. The only part I wish was different was that dickhead Perry would have gotten some kind of payback. I’d like to see Cory stand on his own feet more, and Brett begin to see them both more as fallible humans with their own strengths and flaws, and less as icons.
The Last Guy Breathing. Cory and Brett had some issues in this book.

The book ties up loose ends from Beggars and Choosers, and ultimately makes you feel positive about this young couple coming into adulthood. The only part I wish was different was that dickhead Perry would have gotten some kind of payback. Caleb rescued him from a life without hope.

After Brett finally, finally decided to open up and let go, boy did he, I was expecting rainbows and lollipops to fly out of my IPad.
