Atomic age blue sky stuff with a sense of the frontier in it a still with a bit of isac in future. They were mostly bad stories, but well written. Enjoyable read for Asimov fans.
He has works published in nine of the ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System lacking only an entry in the s category of Philosophy.
They do talk of slide rules, though. Perhaps a couple of issaac will lsaac to whet the appetite of those who have yet to savour Asimov’s talent!
For example, his idea of the dating scene in the s aligned more closely, I believe, to the s, and resembled more the customs depicted in Pride and Prejudicethan, say, in the James Dean movie, “Rebel Without A Cause.
His exceptional intelligence enabled him to master new systems rapidly, and he soon became a successful and distinguished professor at Columbia and even co-authored a biochemistry textbook within a few years. Cuentos completos I
Sure, some of chsitoso is outdated but it’s not just about the technology it’s about the human condition as a result of it. Dec 29, Duncan rated it it was ok. I have not counted them, but there is scarcely a story in which there are any female characters at all, and if there are, they are either statistics as in “his father was x, his mother was y”or non-acting characters receptionists, cooks etc.
Robot Dreams (Robot #) by Isaac Asimov
Overall, I could only give this two stars, and this despite the fact that some of the robot novels and the Foundation series rank, in my view, amongst the most excellent Sci-Fi I read. Kak ryby v vode. He was writing the stories in the 50s but he dealt with the multiverse, self-aware AI, social engineering, even nascent technologies like “spritzing”.
With many I only had to see the title to remember the dl though it had been decades.

I found the book to be a brilliant collection of wildly imaginative stories, all still rooted in the logic of good sci-fi. Married Janet Asimov in In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Heinlein and Issac C. But what Asimov truly is the master of is the subtle control of how information flows within the pacing of the story, how much exactly is revealed to readers at each juncture of the tale.
